With the opening of Canton, Ohio’s first White Barn Candle Co. in October, Belden Village Mall continues its evolution into a retail district that serves not just residents but the growing number of visitors to the nearby Pro Football Hall of Fame. A line from Bath & Body Works, White Barn Candle Co. was so successful as an in-store boutique that it needed its own adjacent storefront for a total of 6,000 square feet of beauty and fragrance!
“This is a case of Bath & Body Works growing organically, pun intended,” says Edward Coury, senior vice president and director of leasing for Starwood Retail Partners. “And we had the flexibility at Belden to accommodate that expansion as we are evolving our tenant mix.”
With the 820,000-square-foot Belden Village’s supreme accessibility (more than 80,000 vehicles pass by daily on Interstate 77), it draws from seven counties, and is becoming a tourist draw in its own right. As a result, the unique tenant mix continues to evolve. Other openings include PINK from Victoria’s Secret, Charley’s Philly Steaks and TJ’s Mexican restaurant in the food court, remodels of Bath & Body and Victoria’s Secret, and new locations for Brow Art and Build-A-Bear. And expect Burntwood Tavern, a favorite eatery in Ohio, late this year.
