The $55 million transformation of Stony Point Fashion Park in Richmond, Virginia, into an experience-driven lifestyle center continues with a 20,000-square-foot H&M now under construction. The fast-fashion anchor is the latest new tenant to join the property; Anchor Bar, the Buffalo, New York., restaurant famed for being the birthplace of spicy chicken wings, opened its first eatery in Virginia at the center late last year. Starwood Retail is negotiating with three other dining options, including a locally based wine bar and a seafood restaurant as Stony Point reconfigures to include additional restaurants and retail, as well community-friendly experiences.
Existing retail tenants include the only Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co. and Restoration Hardware in the market. Starwood Retail is in talks with high-end fitness, spa and salon facilities as well as other in-demand fashion to complement H&M.
“Stony Point’s reimagining is all about linking to and expanding on what is great about our market. Richmond is one of the great culinary destinations in the United States, and Stony Point is and will be a huge factor in embellishing that reputation, as we’re already home to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and other fine dining,” said Michael Powers, Senior Vice President of Leasing. “It’s an exciting time as we re-create Stony Point as a place to gather, and into the heart of the community.”
Phase 1 of the redevelopment, the construction of Triangle Park, a destination with fountains, art, heated benches, fire pits, a dog park and a performance stage/ice rink, is complete. The next phase, to begin construction this summer, will entail new entrances to the project, interior enhancements to improve site lines and the introduction of soft seating in common areas. The redevelopment will be complete by year-end.
