Construction is continuing apace at the reimagined Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, Texas, with the project on schedule to open in phases through 2018 and 2019. The $125 million renovation and reinvention will add unique dining experiences, the Plano Children’s Theater, Equinox and one of just four Crayola Experiences in the U.S. to an already outstanding mix of retailers.
The interior renovation is under way for an April 2018 completion, with H&M’s barricade down and some retailers set to take occupancy of their spaces in December to begin their own build-outs, reports John Albright, vice president of development. Equinox will begin construction for a planned spring 2019 opening.
In fact, April will be a banner month, with the opening of the Restaurant District, featuring up to seven chef-driven restaurants (some with second story-terraces), an outdoor place and a grand entrance as well as a valet drop-off near the new mall entrance. Already signed are Knife, a steakhouse by celebrity chef John Tesar, Mexican Bar Company, Terra Mediterranean and Whistle Britches. On April 1, the Crayola Experience, a colorful adventure for the whole family, will make its debut.
